'Petite Pink' is a compact selection of the evergreen frangipani, Plumeria obtusa, dense, rounded and slow-building, with scented pale pink flowers held close over deep green glossy foliage through the warm months. It brings frangipani perfume to spaces the full-sized trees would overwhelm.
In the landscape
Scaled for courtyards, pool surrounds, raised planters and large containers; effective massed as a low flowering border or repeated along a terrace edge. Pairs naturally with the larger evergreen frangipani where a layered tropical planting is wanted.
Growing notes
As for the species, the tropics and warm, frost-free subtropics of coastal Queensland, into sheltered northern New South Wales; frost-tender. Full sun on free-draining soil, tolerant of coastal exposure and dry once established. Compact and slow, typically around 2–3 m tall and wide in the ground, holding its evergreen foliage in warm climates.
