B Corp Certification
B Corp certification is an audited measure of a business's whole impact — how it treats its people, its community, its customers and its land. It is not a label a company gives itself. It is assessed, scored and independently verified, and it must be earned again at every recertification.
First in Australia and New Zealand
Under its former name, our Ravensbourne farm became the first farm in Australia and New Zealand to achieve B Corp certification. For a working tree farm, the recognition was not a change of direction but an audit of one already taken: the property was designed around sustainable practice from the day it was established in 2002.
The practices behind the certificate
- Renewable energy. The farm runs on renewable energy.
- Rainwater irrigation. Irrigation comes from harvested rainwater, stored on the property rather than drawn from elsewhere.
- Organic fertiliser only. The soil has been fed with organic fertilisers alone since 2002 — more than two decades without synthetic feeding.
These are not initiatives; they are how the farm has always been run, season after season, and they continue unchanged under Signature Trees.
Where the certification stands
The certification was earned by the farm under its former name, and its transfer to Signature Trees is in progress. The practices it audits have continued without interruption — the same ground, the same water, the same soil regime, the same care for the people and community around the farm — and we hold ourselves to that standard while the formalities complete.
